The Cathedral in Eemia was the first project we started for Meow Wolf's Denver project: Convergence Station. It was the first project conceived for permanent install since the success of House of Eternal Return, a massive opulent sculpture filled with intricate colorful details.
Turning a wheel in the center of the cathedral rotates its massive dome, with animated lights accentuating the motion through its acrylic faux stained glass depictions. A pipe organ built in house is operated by pulling levers, with colorful light patterns swirling through the pipes on each pull.
The ultimate easter egg in the space is the Wormhole activation, a sequence of light and sound triggered by solving a puzzle in the laser orrery that rips open the projection mapped sky and sends the entire world streaming through a wormhole into a new dimension.
