EVENTS AND PERFORMANCE
My work in immersive design is born from and continually informed by live experiences. From the early days with Meow Wolf and Team Everything throwing DIY parties in restaurants after hours, to designing and operating lighting and projection at our Fancy Town music venue, to writing and performing in immersive theater and burlesque, and running site lighting for multi-day out of state festivals. My approach to projects is based in the agility, camaraderie, and close relationship with community that you find in live events.
My roots are in no-budget events, tying thrift store lamps or neon fixtures into DMX dimmer packs and building custom lighting desks with MIDI controllers. This ethos carried through as budgets grew, to focus on delivering a unique and artistic experience rather than looking immediately to the most expensive industry standard tools.
